Personal Best provides a creative learning environment that supports participants in gaining a tailor made qualification.
Graduating from the programme will guarantee participants an interview to become a Games Time Volunteer (GTV) for the 2012 Olympic Games / Paralympic Games (providing they apply).
Personal Best develops the skills and knowledge of participants on the programme to maximise their chances of becoming a volunteer, including a Games Time Volunteer (GTV).
Personal Best is an enjoyable and flexible way for you to:
- Learn better ways to help and deal with people;
- Get to know about safety and what to do in an emergency;
- Work as part of a team;
- Take part in volunteering in your local area;
- Increase your self confidence.
Personal Best training will be carried out at our West London Personal Best delivery centre close to Acton Town Tube Station and South Acton railway station offering easy access to learners throughout West London.
Our Personal Best Training will be delivered on a 2 days per week basis over an 8 week period and will include volunteering experience with a local voluntary organisation. Key to the programme will be structured support in securing employment post training.

| Unit 8 | Developing team and interpersonal skills | 10 hours |
| Unit 9 | Preparing and reflecting on a volunteer placement | 10 hours |
You will be given lots of support during and after the programme, which can lead to:
- A Level 1 award;
- A better chance of getting a job;
- More training;
- The chance to become a London 2012 Volunteer.

Personal Best is for people who are not in work or education, but would like to gain opportunities to volunteer in their community and at the same time improve their skills and chances of getting a job.
Am I eligible for Personal Best training?
In order to take part in Train'd Up's Personal Best training, you must qualify under the criteria below:
- Be resident in one of the following London Boroughs:
- Hillingdon
- Hounslow
- Kingston Upon Thames
- Richmond Upon Thames
- Unemployed (but you don't have to be registered unemployed) / economically inactive;
- Must be 18 years of age by 21st July 2012;
- You must not be in education, employment or training (NEET);
- If you do not have a full level 2 qualification or above;
- Must be at Entry Level 2 or above;
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
