Aim:
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to:
- Be able to operate machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and accepted good practice.
- Use ancillary attachments.
- Carry out a pre-shift inspection.
- Be able to operate safely under varying site conditions.
- Be able to load and unload difficult shaped loads from vehicles.
- Set stabilisers correctly – have machine stable and level.
- Be able to carry out minor adjustments and routine service.
- Understand the causes of instability of truck and load.
- Have an understanding of responsibilities under current relevant legislation.
Trainee Specification: All personnel required to operate a Telescopic Material Handler or a Rough Terrain Fork Lift Truck

Method of Training
Highly participative, with practical demonstrations highlighted by use of Powerpoint and Videos along with group and individual exercises.
| Duration: | 1 or 2.5 or 5 days depending upon experience. These courses meet the requirements of Approved Code of Practice for Rider Operated Lift Trucks: Operator Training. |
