Aim:
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to:
- Identify hazards and follow safe systems of work
- Demonstrate that they have the necessary practical skills and the knowledge to do their work effectively and efficiently
- Meet the requirements to gain a “Construction Plant Competence Scheme” (CPCS) Competent Operator Card or the units required where there is no full VQ.
Trainee Specification: This qualification is designed for candidates working with mobile plant.

PLUS 1 unit (depending on machine):
Operate Specialised Plant and Machinery to Performance Requirements (Lifting and Transferring)
Operate Specialised Plant and Machinery to Performance Requirements (Extracting and Excavating)
Operate Specialised Plant and Machinery to Performance Requirements (Construction and Formation)
PLUS 1 unit (depending on machine):
Transport and Discharge Bulk Material Loads
Extract and Excavate Materials
Lift, Transfer and Position Loads
Distribute, Layer and Consolidate Materials
Lift, Transfer and Position Loads for Access
Method of Assessment
Demonstration of skill, knowledge and understanding to the standard specified by the performance criteria of each unit of the NVQ. This can be achieved through gathering evidence, portfolio building, witness testimonies and questioning.

for grant purposes. |
| Certification: | City & Guilds Certificate Level II in Specialised Plant and Machinery Operations.
