Aim:
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to:

• Be able to operate safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and accepted good practice.
• Site and operate machine safely in response to given tasks.
• Load and unload machine off a road transporter where applicable
• Recognise defects and hazards that affect Road Roller motions
• Have an understanding of responsibilities under H.S.W.A. & other current relevant legislation.

• Manoeuvre in confined areas using forward and reverse direction
• Set the roller for compaction duties
• Compact different materials to given instructions
• Compact up to supported and unsupported edges
• Compact against radii
• Explain safety procedures when compacting on inclines

Method of Training
Highly participative, with practical demonstrations highlighted by use of Powerpoint and Videos along with group and individual exercises.

Duration: 1 or 2.5 or 5 days depending upon experience. These courses meet the requirements of Approved Code of Practice for Rider Operated Lift Trucks: Operator Training. Funding: Eligible companies may be able to claim grants toward their Training as this course is CITB approved for grant purposes.
