COURSE OUTLINE FOR UNITS PF010, PF018 & PF019

Aim:
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to:

  • Explain the function of bolts and the use of bolting connections
  • Identify different joints and jointing material
  • Explain the principles of load loss (relaxation)
  • Describe the procedures for a range of tightening methods
  • Prepare and maintain bolt tightening equipment
  • Prepare and maintain bolted connections
  • Tighten bolts using controlled hydraulic equipment
  • Check the integrity of the finished joint
